Taras Yoom is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist and the creator of the Yoomoota art universe, honoured at the International Design Awards, the A’Design Award, the Good Design and Lexus Design Awards, and more. He is known for integrating his knowledge of biology and nature with a deeply personal approach.
Before turning to art, he earned a degree in medicine and explored his creativity in a hospital setting — a rare combination that fuses design, artistic expression and biophysics. Working across sculpture, collectible design, furniture and painting, and drawing on the investigative spirit of Leonardo da Vinci, Yoom weaves the inner workings of the human condition together with natural structures into a parallel realm that reflects both body and mind. He defines his style as biomorphic surrealism.
